STORY 5: COFFEE

Hello folks!

Today's story is a special story. There are times when I feel an urge to write to just lift up my mood. This is that kind of story. You can call this a self love story. Hopefully, this will give a freshness to your soul.

Happy reading ♥️

THE STORY ...

Before leaving, I had double checked up on myself in the mirror. My dress was fine. I had carefully applied the kajal. Also the lipstick shade was okay. I am not a pro at these makeup things but I guess, I was up to the mark (hopefully).

I was still not sure.
Do I really want this?
I have been away from this person for so long that now I don't feel acquainted with this person. So technically, you can say we are strangers now. And I am so reckless with strangers that I am confident, this meeting is going to be a disaster. But then everything around me these days, is almost a disaster. I am absolutely ready for one more.

I checked my phone. 10:30 AM. I am not late. I could feel the dampness on my forehead. Partially due to the sun over my head and partially due to the nervousness. I could actually feel the gaze of every passer by. I should stop overthinking.
A few steps more and I'll be there.
God save me please.

STORY 5: COFFEE

The Bunny Cafe Shop.
I had conferred with myself for a whole long night before choosing this place for the day. My friends had suggested many fancy places but I wanted this to be quite simple. I wanted to do this in my way.

A giant gentleman opened the glass door for me. His moustaches reminded me of  Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman and that added more to my miserable condition. My feet felt heavy. I crossed the aisle and went to the table farthest from the crowded spot. Yes, this is the right table. I placed my phone and bag, sat with a relieved sigh and wept the sweat with the tissue paper.

Soon (much sooner than expected) the barista came to take the order.

"What would you like, ma'am?
I need an extra moment, please!
But instead I said, "Two large brewed coffee, please."

"Would you like it hot or iced, ma'am?
Argh!! "Hot, please."

"Err, are you expecting someone, ma'am or both for you?"
Common man! Seriously? I wanted to slap his face, am I allowed to do it without being evicted from this coffee shop!!

I rolled my eyes.
"Of course, both for me."

I wish, I had said it rather screaming it because a woman who was sitting two tables away, glared at me. The barista also disappeared into thin air. I took out my earphones from bag, plugged them in my phone and played my favourite playlist. After so long, I am going to have my cuppa coffee listening my favourite song, talking my things, with ME.

PS. We all have become someone or something that we are actually not. We all have reached where we don't belong to. We need to discover ourselves.
We need to come home.
